DAW
audacity FOSS
this DAW reminds of an interface from windows 3.1
but its solid, doesnt crash
the loading times are just
from manipulating the waveforms
so its no bloat
its real easy to be creative with this
make an effect
then another
then some more
and youll create a unique sound
its not easy though if youre
used to the normal ways
its not rulebased in any way
since its pure waveform
but thats what makes it so good
before ableton
what i used on the dark ages
before negative feedback loop
some very early version of
sonic foundry sound forge
supplied on cd with a keyboard monitor
and some other daw that shipped
with zoom 4hn microphone
its available for only 2000kr 200$
highly recommended, it manages
96khz 24bit stereo, so even if your
recording isnt perfect you have leeway
id usually make sounds in the 2 daws
then import them into audacity
for further editing or just cutting
and pasting. it was a lot of work.
im happy i have suno.com now because
i never got to enjoy my music. to this
day i sorta cant stand it even when its
good. but its mostly sotz aka black ambient
but the stuff before like i said was made
in a completely different way very sample
based too which sonic foundry helped in
manipping with. remember, if you dont want
to use "artificial intelligence" then youre
only allowed an acoustic guitar, or maybe
only to write sheetmusic? everything is a
tool one way or the other. it can be used
for good and evil depending on the person.
but at the end of the day its about personal
expression. if you dont elicit your soul in
the music theres no point. dont be a sellout.
strange people dont mention that word anymore.
theres so much pop slop out there. always been
