I'm a fan of his old drum & bass and ambient tracks

e.g. Kirby's Dreamland and the Underwater Voyages

At the time I heard his songs

darkhalo was probably among the best trackers

a new sound after the Amiga era

a found fan on the filesharing network soulseek

Make no mistake. This is not "background music". Rather it is when the raven hour has passed, you have slept some time, and wake up when everything is calm around. The joyful darkness. You settle into your comfy not-too-hard-not-too-soft armchair, have a cigarillo or some neighbors weed, and maybe a good yeared whiskey or homegrown IPA or unhumanly strong instacoffee in a half litre detailed cup. Then you let the energies flow around, and to, and out of you. This is true happiness. This is infinite detail, and infinite sadness, and infinite darkness. You look out of your apartment, and see the stars and the lights around you. You look into yourself, and with all your darkness, there is light, and there is stars. Like my favorite thinker says

"Whoever looks into himself and everything feels like a vast galaxy, also know how irregular galaxies are. They lead into the chaos and labyrinth of existence"

As you are listening at a perfect 85db or even louder with neighbours that do not care as you are beauty in its purest form which no one dares to question. You do this on a well-composed stereo, and hear something more than what the day tells you. Like the artists Clockwork Day and Clockwork Night, the day is wholly beautiful but the night is more alluring.

"The keys I handle no better than any other painist, but, ah, the space between the notes, that is where the music lies!"

Thus we are mostly all those dark things, and need to live with it, not hide it, just let it flow through us, and appretiate when inspiration comes around. It is said dark matter and dark energy is not only out in the universe, but in our stomaches, and we should also have a bountiful layered cupcake or some bloody steak barbequed eventhough it is snowing outside and everyone will have dreams of smoke that live around you.

In truth darkness is memory, is time. And no matter how scientists do their research, they cannot comprehend how the universe expands.

"You're wrong when you say the sky's the limit, we don't even know when the universe ends"

Further on bitchute, down in the swamp, the writer now believes in flat earth theory.

As non-junkie in an alcalic world, I remember a time when i lived in a world without moon, without starshine, without sun. The weather was either cloudy or sunny, there was no darkness. To fall asleep, as dark and ever more evil faces transformed when I closed my eyes, I needed to find one, just 1, song to play on repeat from a 3000 record library. Thanks to synchronicity, this happened quite quickly, I would sleep half the night, and then wake up transformed, turn off the music, and sleep another 4 hours.

In this world of true worlds, people had tatus in the their faces, "marks" of both beast and light bearing. I went on the bullet train, this übertranscendence, and it was only people dressed in metal / goth aesthetics, or a whole company of only dressed in white, which I prayed together with.

Thus the ultimate frequency is that of gods and angels, satans and shaitans and demons. But both are just as needed, you have to listen to the demon on your right sometimes - the challenger, if you are lefthanded and the lucky 12,5% who are more creative.

What is there to be creative except anything else? I remember a time when I created my first livejournal account, in 1999 i had nothing to say and the account is empty to this day.

I was lucky to find Deaddreamer (Misery in Motion) who linked a lot of music and sites and had a forum which linked to his friends forums. It was a tough upbringing in the digital world, and I did stalk a guy, ruined his life over and over, and I finally got to taste my own medicine, after putting on a white gold diamond ring. Now I can sense about 12 people who try to ruin me constantly any chance they get, but I press on, and have found friendship and being appretiated for who I am.

I will now spell-check and the like this, and upload on some sites. It's not perfect, but I did my best, as a cigarillos and dip and some cheap LIDL chocolate and even-cheaper ICA coffee made in sync with a tailored darkhalo playlist.

Intro

I have followed this artist for a long time. I cannot say I am his greatest fan. I made an unofficial site dedicated to his work long ago. I will now try to recreate it. Since my computer engineering skills are limited, basically all I did was copy and paste. I did not read his words thoroughly. I tried to make the site known on the file-sharing network Soulseek. I recieved a few "Thanks for the link!" but this was not satisfactory. Over time I deleted the fansite, more and more.

Biography

Darkhalo (né Josh Barnett) was born in 1978, to upper-middle class hippie parents, in San José, USA, as a Gemini. He is the Sigma personality type, that is, he prefers spending time alone, while thinking of how he affects the world. He has a smile that can knock you down, and you do not want to be on his friends list.

At a young age, his best friend shot himself with a revolver. People respond differently to death of a close one. As for Josh, he turned inwards, but as this was his fate, it can neither be called good nor bad. It is just an action, something that happens, and you deal with it in whatever way you are able.

After hearing the song Halo from Depeche Mode's album Violator, he chose the nickname Darkhalo. Before The Internet gained popularity, he would call up BBSs in Sweden and other places. A BBS mimics the internet in many ways, only it was mostly text, some images, some MODs, and some MUDs.

As any person, he is an entire world, an entire galaxy. Nowadays the digital world is moving forwards exponentially, and we now have Graphene, Quantum Computers, Deep Data and the Great Algorithms to worry about. The worries seem so great there really is no point in caring, it just is. It is just something that happens, and we have to relate to it.

Josh started with module music, but did not use the ordinary approach of copying a popular song like his brethren. He chose his own path, and that path, is now his legend. Then, realising the futility in the limitation of Screamtracker producing too large file sizes if one wants to keep them CD / VHS quality, and with the megabyte limit imposed by a then dawning internet, he would produce in the DAW, only to upload the tracks as MP3s online to sites such as Scene Dot Org.

Not soon thereafter, he invented his own genre, in his own words, "Empyrian". This can be explained as a genre beyond Au5's popularized dreamstep (or as his detractors say, "pop N bass"). It is not for everyone, and as the limits of MP3 started showing he finally went with FLACs. Beyond this was making remixes for his wife, as a mix between the cold sound of lonely electronics and the warm sounds of in-real-life. Then, uploading his music on Bandcamp, and then further, on music platforms such as Youtube and Spotify with the aggregator CDBaby, under the net-label Fandalism.

As he tells in his own words, he has no aims in becoming recognized globally non-undergruond. If you are something, you get praised for it, by the gods and angels, it does not have to be in the number of streams likes or any other arbitrary number. If you affect just one person, it is worth it, then your life has not been in vain.

Notes

I could recommend searching for dh_mods.7z or the like on filesharing networks. It is more sounds. I tried to make every fan compilation fit on a 80 minute CD. so if you have 4x~75 mins .MODs worth of music you should have his whole official old works under this moniker.

Scene dot org also has some unique mp3s as far as I can tell. Search for dh- or darkhalo or the like. Also ice dot org has some of his older 3d art. The mods can be zipped / 7zipped and as such has the ending .xmz or .s3z. Good luck.

There are many more mod sites out there like mandarin? web radio Altered Perception and many others.

To speak of oldskool computer game music aka chiptunes Kohina has a long going web radio with actual recordings from the hardware of old consoles.

The internet is vast and many old computer game soundtracks are on music aggregators nowadays to serve to such conglomerators such as Youtube Spotify and many others.

For example Command and Conquer: Red Alert OST or Blizzard's well-executed Starcraft soundtrack in the genres of the Zerg Terran and Protos species.
