this is the third fake account friend request ive gotten in a year from this person. this one, as you see, is very amateurish. he has 1 other friend. as is usual with fake accounts, when you add them, they soon eoungh say "i am dying, and am to give [lots of $$$] to you. just give me 1/100 of the asset, and the money is yours". also refered to as the old chainletter "nigerian prince scam".
as you see on the side, that is pornspambot accounts. i got 1 per week before, now its 3-6 per day. i cant even bother to click "deny friend request" anymore. they even started on instagram. strangely enough, there, the names are on the lines of 387Dy.mDowi.MuNi156, i guess they cant put too much effort in them...
before, pornspambots actually had both "personal" info and several photos (and got updated!), of which some were memes. now theyve reduced it to a selfie and a background pic, where it says something horribly misspelled with a web address link (always the same now, its composed of just 3 letters, clever) that points you to a random dating website.
they also spam you 10 times per day in messenger with the same thing. i dont get how anyone could fall for them, over and over and over again. it inhibits finding anyone that actually exists IRL, as it is now. i get next to no real friend requests, but actually got one from a palestinian journalist? figured she was for real, she even had an instagram with 4 million followers. what did she want from me? money, of course... so probably fake, or just dumb. if everyone on instagram gave her $1 she would be a millionaire.
now why would this concern you? do you also have bots spamming up your messenger / friends requests? you should be very worried. my ex-wife actually sent me a message last december, but i missed it until recently, since i had so much spam i just ignored it completely. she ended up deleting that account, then telling me later via telepathy "forget me tomas, you dont owe me anything, its over". she also tried to visit me on christmas last year, but wasnt let in, and just left.
and instagram and facebook is owned by the same company. and theyre obviously in on it. most of these bots dont get deleted. same as altavista back in the day. or bittorrent downloaders. overloaded with porn and casino ads. its when they have sunk so low they really have no morals left at all anymore.
